When you create a new conversation thread, you can select either an Open or a Closed conversation type. Once the conversation has been created, you will not be able to change the conversation type. If you do not select a conversation type, the default will be Closed conversation.
- Open Conversation: Anyone in the conversation can add or remove participants after the conversation has been created. This conversation type is ideal for care teams whose members change frequently due to staff turnover or collaboration across multiple settings.
- Closed Conversation: Participants cannot be changed after the conversation has been created.
Web/Desktop App:
1. In the top navigation menu, click the Messages option.
2. Click the Compose Message button on the top left corner of the page.
3. Click the Closed or Open selector (radio button) on the top right corner of the page.
iOS App:
1. In the bottom navigation tab bar, tap the Messages option.
2. Tap the Compose Message icon on the top right corner of the screen.
3. Use the switch on the top right part of the screen to select either a Closed or Open conversation type.
Android App:
1. In the left-hand navigation menu, tap the Messages option.
2. Tap the Compose Message icon on the top right corner of the screen.
3. Use the switch on the top right part of the screen to select either a Closed or Open conversation type.
